In-House Clinician

Location: UK/Europe - homebased

Application closing date: 30th September, 2026

About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Medical Device Notified Body to join our existing team of Internal Clinicians.

Specifically for this role, we are looking for a General Practitioner, Family Doctor, or Intensivist.

Responsibilities:

  • Using your medical expertise, you will collaborate closely with internal clinical teams to review manufacturers' technical documentation and clinical evaluation reports, assessing whether the clinical evidence supporting a medical device is sufficient in both quality and quantity.
  • Contribute essential clinical expertise within your medical specialism to medical device conformity assessments. Examples include evaluation (in coordination with biostatisticians and other technical experts where appropriate) of:
    • Equivalence rationales and risk assessments.
    • Appropriateness of clinical claims, indications and contraindications for use, and user information and warnings.
    • Adequacy of endpoints, follow-up, and clinical evaluation data.
  • You will also evaluate post-market surveillance and post-market clinical follow-up (PMCF) activities to ensure they adequately demonstrate the ongoing safety, performance, and clinical benefit of the device.
  • Working closely with our Project Management and Operations teams, you will support the coordination and allocation of work to appropriately qualified medical experts across relevant clinical disciplines. You will review incoming applications and determine their suitability for clinical assessment, ensuring they are assigned to the most appropriate medical expertise to support efficient and effective conformity assessment activities.
  • Mentor BSI technical/clinical staff and external clinical experts, to ensure consistency and rigour in clinical data reviews.
  • Help to develop internal “best practice” guides for clinical evaluation and data requirements within your specialism.
  • Act as clinical support to the commercial/Marketing team when required.
  • Provide internal and external training in areas of expertise.
  • Appoint external experts for novel technologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
