About The Role

We are seeking a talented Fullstack Developer to join our innovative client’s dynamic engineering team based in Bristol. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an advanced IoT platform that leverages connected devices and data analytics to enhance safety, health, and efficiency within homes. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, engaging with the full software development lifecycle—from designing user-facing features and APIs to managing cloud infrastructure and data visualization. This position provides a comprehensive experience across the entire technology stack, allowing the developer to expand their skills and expertise while working alongside seasoned engineers. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week on-site, and offers a chance to be part of a forward-thinking organization committed to technological innovation and quality.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and a passion for modern software engineering. Essential qualifications include experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in a commercial or personal capacity, along with proficiency in Node.js for backend development. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue is required. A solid understanding of SQL databases and experience working with REST APIs are also necessary. Candidates should be comfortable working in Linux environments and familiar with version control systems like Git. Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly desirable. A strong grasp of software testing principles and best practices is important, as well as a genuine interest in learning new technologies and building high-quality products. The role is suitable for developers eager to grow their expertise within a collaborative and innovative team.

Responsibilities

As a Fullstack Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and enhancing a modern web platform utilizing JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Building engaging front-end features using Angular or other contemporary JavaScript frameworks, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Developing REST APIs and backend services with Node.js, supporting the platform’s functionality and scalability.
  • Working with SQL databases and cloud technologies, primarily AWS.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Contributing to a microservices architecture that supports the platform’s growth.
  • Collaborating with the wider engineering team on new features, deployment strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in code reviews, testing, and documentation, ensuring best practices are maintained throughout the development process.
