Full‑Stack Developer | C# / SQL / Angular | Trading & Risk Control Systems | £90,000 | Energy & Commodities | Hybrid, London
A Full‑Stack Developer is required to join a Control Functions technology team within a leading energy trading house, building the systems used across market risk, credit risk, treasury and financial control. This team builds and owns applications that sit at the centre of the trading business, giving risk, treasury and compliance functions the tools they need to manage exposure and meet regulatory requirements. The systems you build will be used daily by desks and control functions to manage risk, run workflows and support the full post trade lifecycle.
The work spans backend engineering, database architecture and front‑end development. You'll be building and owning solutions end to end, from initial analysis through to delivery and support, working on a modern Microsoft stack including Azure, Docker and Kubernetes. The environment is ideal for engineers who enjoy working across the stack, solving problems close to the trading business, and delivering tools that materially improve how risk and control functions operate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
