Your new company I'm looking for a Fullstack Developer with Java experience to join a well-known team on a 12-month contract. Office attendance required at least 3 days per week. During the first month, attendance is expected to be 5 days per week, subject to project requirements. Remote working will be considered after 5 months. The location of the role is London.

Your new role We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer with strong Java expertise to join a dynamic delivery team supporting a public sector project. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions and should demonstrate a solid foundation in Java programming, experience with modern frameworks and libraries, and a commitment to producing high-quality, maintainable code.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' UK residency and currently based in the UK.
  • Strong commercial Java development experience.
  • Experience with popular Java frameworks, such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts or JSF.
  • Experience with Java libraries, such as Apache Commons or Guava.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and related technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes and Swagger.
  • Previous public sector experience.
  • Ability to develop clean, maintainable and high-quality software within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and maintain Java-based software solutions.
  • Work with modern Java frameworks and libraries to deliver robust application components.
  • Contribute to microservices-based solutions and associated containerisation and orchestration practices.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues across project teams.
  • Follow agreed development standards and support the delivery of maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Participate in project ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete further day-to-day activities as explained during the interview process.
