The Subscriptions Mission is shaping the future of how millions of people discover, purchase, and experience Spotify Premium. We build the platforms and tools that power Spotify's global subscription business, enabling new offers, pricing strategies, and commerce experiences that help our business move quickly while delivering exceptional experiences for listeners.

Role Overview
As a Fullstack Engineer, you'll develop end-to-end solutions spanning modern web applications, backend services, and data platforms. Working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and business partners, you'll help create the tools that enable Spotify's global subscription business to innovate safely, efficiently, and at scale.
What You'll Do
- Build end-to-end features across modern web applications, backend services, and data platforms that support Spotify's global subscription business.
- Create intuitive internal products that enable business teams to launch, configure, and manage Premium offers through secure, guided workflows.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power subscriptions, prepaid products, pricing, promotions, and the offer lifecycle.
- Develop GraphQL and gRPC APIs that connect frontend applications with distributed platform services.
- Design efficient database schemas, implement data migrations, and optimize application performance using PostgreSQL.
- Build secure, reliable, and auditable systems that support business-critical financial operations and SOX-compliant approval workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers across the Subscriptions Mission to evolve shared platform capabilities, improve developer experience, and increase platform reliability.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code while contributing to technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to help maintain the reliability and availability of services powering Spotify Premium.

Who You Are
- Experience building and delivering production software across both frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience developing scalable backend services using modern Java, with Java 17+ experience being a plus.
- Experience building modern web applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience designing or consuming GraphQL APIs and enjoy building schema-driven applications.
- Experience with gRPC services and Protocol Buffers, or enthusiasm to deepen your expertise in distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
- Passion for writing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested software that delivers long-term value.
- Enjoy partnering with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.
- Passion for simplifying complex workflows and creating intuitive experiences for internal users.
- Experience with tools such as jOOQ, Flyway, Apollo GraphQL, DataLoader, Styled Components, Storybook, TanStack Query, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or similar technologies will help you ramp up quickly.
- Experience building commerce platforms, subscription products, pricing systems, distributed systems, or large-scale platform modernization initiatives is beneficial.

Where You'll Be
- Flexibility to work where you work best within the EMEA region as long as we have a work location.
- This team operates within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration.
