MrQ: Full Stack Product Builder

MrQ is a UK online casino — irreverent, direct, growing fast. We're building something new alongside the core product: a new games world that operates at a different pace, with a different team, and a different mandate.

The Foundry is the team doing it. Small, engineering-led, deliberately lean. Two squads of two builders — Iron and Bronze. Four builders total. A jet ski, not a tanker.

The Full Stack Product Builder is the core role on the team. You think like a founder and build like one. End-to-end ownership — problem definition, architecture, build, ship, learn, iterate — without waiting to be directed. You use AI natively. You move fast. You create things that last.

You'll work directly with the CTO and CPO, with a clean brief and real scope.

What you'll do

  • You own the bet. Not your tickets — the whole thing. Problem, product, build, ship, and whether it survives real players. You and your squad partner (two builders per pod) carry one bet end-to-end to production-proven.
  • You build AI-natively. Not a productivity tool bolted on. It's how you think, prototype, and ship from day one. You black-box the parts the architecture makes safe and craft the parts that matter.
  • You ship from day one. There's a prototype already (Arena: coin-based multiplayer games on real market data). Your first job is taking it to production-proven — stable, scalable, ready for real players.
  • You prototype in days, not sprints. Rough in front of players beats polished in Figma. Ship. Learn. Forge further.
  • You decide when your bet earns its home. One of three outcomes per bet: a natural long-term team inherits it, a new dedicated squad spins up around it, or it goes back to the crucible. Every bet has a date with reality. You'll make the call.

What makes this role unusual

Be clear-eyed about this before you apply:

  • Two builders per pod. No backend specialist, no frontend specialist, no data engineer hiding in the corner. You're the product person, the architect, and every layer of the stack. AI helps. Your squad partner helps. Nothing else does.
  • No PM writing your tickets. You talk to players. You decide what ships.
  • No designer most of the time. Our Head of Design is a Foundry partner, not a resident. You'll design the non-hero moments yourself.
  • You don't keep your bet forever. When it earns its home, it leaves — either a natural team inherits it, a new dedicated squad spins up, or it dies. You follow it or you stay in the Foundry and take the next heat.
  • Your bet might die. Most Foundry bets should. That's how MrQ discovers what works — cheaply, in front of real players, fast. A dead bet is a successful discovery — as long as we killed it early.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

If that sounds like bugs, the role isn't right. If it sounds like the job you'd pay to do, read on.

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years delivering customer-facing software with measurable outcomes — startup, founder, or scale-up background preferred
  • Genuinely AI-native — you've built with Claude Code, Cursor, v0, Lovable, or equivalents, and it's fundamentally changed how you work. Not buzzword AI — you've shipped with it
  • Strong product instincts alongside strong engineering instincts — you care as much about whether you're solving the right problem as how you're solving it
  • Track record of taking ambiguous, high-leverage work from zero to production without top-down direction
  • Comfortable making scope decisions, trade-offs, and calls in real time. You don't wait to be unblocked
  • Experience operating without dedicated PMs or designers, or a strong proven ability to do so
  • Strong communicator who can influence direction, not just execute on it
  • A bias for doing — a rough thing in production beats a polished thing in a Figma file

The opportunity

This is a long-term bet on a different way of building at MrQ. You'll have direct access to the CTO and CPO, full ownership from day one, and genuine influence over which bets get made and how they're forged.

Your path from here isn't growing a team around you — the Foundry stays lean. It's anchoring a bet in its long-term home, leading a dedicated squad that spins up from your work, or taking the next Foundry heat with a sharper hand than anyone else in the business.

If you've ever wanted to build something from scratch inside a company with real players, real infrastructure, and a product that matters — this is it.

What we're not looking for

  • Engineers who need a fully defined spec before they start
  • People who are great at executing someone else's roadmap but struggle to define their own
  • "AI-curious" — we need AI-native. There's a difference
  • Anyone who thinks moving fast means cutting corners — we want things that last
  • Anyone who needs long-term ownership of a product to feel the job is real. Foundry bets earn their home — they don't live with you forever
