- Buckinghamshire
- Plus, project works on the south coast and London
- May require some working away from home.

Due to increasing customer demand, we are looking for a skilled, reliable and motivated Electrician / Life Safety Systems Engineer to join our team.
About the Role:
This is a varied role covering electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing, commissioning and servicing across domestic, commercial and supported housing environments. You will work across a wide range of electrical and life safety systems, including fire detection, domestic smoke alarms, warden call systems, emergency lighting, access control and door entry systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out electrical installation, maintenance and repair works in accordance with BS 7671.
- Installing, servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on:
- Domestic smoke alarm systems.
- Fire alarm systems.
- Emergency lighting systems.
- Warden call and dispersed alarm systems.
- Access control systems.
- Door entry systems.
- Domestic electrical systems, including lighting, sockets and extractor fans.
- Carrying out electrical inspection and testing and completing the required certification.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults efficiently.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and site instructions.
- Ensuring all works comply with current British Standards, regulations, manufacturer requirements and OSG procedures.
- Completing job sheets, service reports, test documentation and digital records accurately.
- Liaising professionally with customers, residents, housing associations, site managers and other contractors.
- Maintaining company tools, vehicles, test equipment and stock.
- Supporting apprentices and junior engineers when required.
- Working in accordance with company health & safety procedures, RAMS and asbestos awareness requirements.
- Participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota where required.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:
- Recognised qualifications as a qualified electrician.
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Good electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Experience of domestic smoke alarm installations in accordance with BS 5839-6.
- Experience installing and maintaining warden call systems, preferably including Tynetec Advent XT2, Tunstall and Appello systems.
- Experience with access control systems, ideally including CAME KMS.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Confidence using smartphones, tablets and digital job management systems.
Experience working for or within a NICEIC or NAPIT registered electrical contractor would be advantageous.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- Inspection & Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
- Fire alarm installation, servicing and fault-finding experience.
- Experience with warden call, dispersed alarm or nurse call systems.
- Knowledge of relevant standards including BS 5839 and emergency lighting requirements.
- IPAF certification.
- PASMA certification.
- ECS card.
- Previous experience working within social housing, sheltered housing or supported living environments.
