🩺 Functional Assessor (PIP) – £42,985 Starting Salary | Hybrid Working
2027 Intake Now Open | 3 Days On-Site / 2 Days From Home

We're recruiting experienced clinicians for Functional Assessor roles carrying out Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments, starting in 2027. The Role
As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical training to assess how a person's health condition or disability affects their everyday life, producing evidence-based reports that inform PIP decisions. Day to day, you'll:
- Carry out face-to-face and telephone/video functional assessments with PIP claimants
- Review medical evidence, GP records, and claimant histories to build an accurate clinical picture
- Conduct structured, empathetic consultations exploring functional ability and daily living needs
- Apply clinical reasoning within a recognised assessment framework
- Write clear, detailed, well-reasoned reports to support DWP decision-making
- Work within quality and productivity standards, with regular case discussion and support
- Collaborate with a wider clinical team, including access to Clinical Leads, peer support, and structured supervision

Who We're Looking For
Registered clinicians — Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics, or Pharmacists — with a minimum of 1 years' post-registration experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and confident, structured clinical reasoning.
