ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant to lead the design, optimisation, and delivery of solutions across our Microsoft Dynamics landscape. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, multi entity environments, understands end to end business processes, and can translate requirements into scalable, high quality Dynamics 365 solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and partners to deliver enhancements, lead workshops, improve processes, and ensure the Dynamics platform continues to support our evolving business needs.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional:
- Lead functional design, solution architecture discussions, and requirements gathering workshops across business units.
- Analyse complex business processes and translate them into effective Dynamics 365 configurations and solutions.
- Configure and customise Dynamics 365 modules (F&O) aligned with industry best practices.
- Create detailed functional specifications for integrations, customisations, and extensions.
- Support end to end project delivery including testing, UAT coordination, training, documentation, and go live support.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned with platform standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across functional and process layers.
- Provide guidance on platform governance, data quality, release management, and system optimisation.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance workflows, reduce manual processes, and improve user experience.
- Work effectively within large, complex, multisystem organisations and navigate competing priorities.
- Provide support to data analysts and system administrators to ensure cross team initiatives and KPI metrics are achieved.

Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the required quality standards are met.
- Work closely with QA teams to define and implement test plans.
- Oversee the resolution of any issues or bugs identified during testing.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product delivery efficiency.
- Analyse and report on delivery performance, using metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and integrate them into the delivery process.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, release notes, and technical documentation.
Customer Focus:
- Ensure that product delivery aligns with customer needs and expectations.
- Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform future product development.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to address post-launch issues.
General:
- Avoid conflicts of interest between personal interests and the interests of the organisation.
- Exercise independent judgment, reasonable care, skill and diligence when carrying out their duties.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Necessary:
- Proven experience as a Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant in environments with high complexity.
- Strong knowledge of key D365 modules (AP, AR, GL, PMA, HR, Bank & Budgets).
- Demonstrated experience mapping, analysing, and optimising end to end business processes.
- Ability to create high quality functional documentation, including solution designs and process flows.
- Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise-scale implementations or transformations.
- Solid understanding of integration patterns and data flows between D365 and external systems. Familiarity with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complexity and propose practical solutions.

Desirable:
- Experience in global or multi-entity Dynamics deployments.
- Background in finance, supply chain, field service, or another specialised domain.
- Knowledge of subscription billing, fixed assets, as well as particularly strong experience across P2P, O2C & R2R processes.
- Exposure to Azure technologies (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory).
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and structured release processes.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g. MB-300).
