About the Role

About Us

Our client provides tailored software engineering and IT services focused on automating complex business functions, integrating disparate systems and delivering measurable operational improvements. The organisation serves mid-to-large enterprises across regulated and commercial sectors, designing solutions that replace manual processes, reduce risk and surface actionable insights from data. Teams combine industry-specific knowledge with engineering discipline to deliver configurable platforms, bespoke integrations and outcome-focused implementations.

Job Description

The Functional Consultant will convert stakeholder needs into robust functional designs and guide those designs through implementation to realise business value. The role requires ownership of requirements definition, process modelling, solution validation and testing oversight across the delivery lifecycle. Success will be measured by clear, testable specifications, timely delivery of expected features and demonstrable improvement in client processes and metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements elicitation using workshops, interviews and document analysis to capture business objectives and constraints.
  • Create detailed functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria that drive development and testing activities.
  • Design and optimise business process maps to align with target solutions and operational best practice.
  • Work closely with architects and developers to validate solution feasibility and guide configuration decisions.
  • Coordinate and manage user acceptance testing, including test plans, defect triage and stakeholder sign-off.
  • Support prioritisation of features by assessing business value, risk and implementation effort.
  • Produce implementation artefacts such as process flows, screen mock-ups and configuration guides for delivery teams.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to verify outcomes, quantify benefits and recommend follow-up actions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
