The role is primarily based at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, CO2 7UT, with occasional travel to other Pearson TQ or employer sites as required. Delivery includes classroom-based teaching, remote one-to-one and group support sessions.

In your first six months, your focus will be on building relationships with learners, becoming fully embedded within programme delivery, managing your learner caseload effectively, and supporting learners to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications successfully.

  • Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans and learner progress records.
  • Monitor learner progress, providing timely interventions and support where required.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, including e-portfolios, evidence, learner communications and achievement tracking.
  • Create and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources tailored to learner needs.
  • Differentiate learning approaches to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Prepare learners for assessments and support them to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Provide constructive, developmental and timely feedback to learners.
  • Produce Functional Skills performance and achievement data to support reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, safeguarding and risk management processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, resource development and wider team initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
