Functional Specialist – Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS)
Company Description As a Functional Specialist, you’ll apply your clinical expertise in a new way: conducting in-person or video assessments, creating in-depth reports, and making critical clinical recommendations—while enjoying a structured yet flexible work environment.
What we offer

- Flexible hours: Full or part-time (minimum 3 days per week)
- 8am–5pm Monday to Friday (occasional 8pm finishes may apply)
- No weekend or night shifts
- Starting salary: £39,500 (increasing to £40,500 post DWP approval)
- 10% salary bonus (performance/quality-based)
- Hybrid model: Up to 3 days/week home or clinic-based

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assessments: Evaluate conditions’ impact on daily living
- Patient Interaction: Observe, listen, empathise; gather sensitive information
- Reporting: Produce 3,000–4,000 word detailed, clinical reports using evidence
- Justification: Provide clear support for DWP benefit decisions
- Knowledge: Continuously update understanding of health conditions
- Output: Complete up to 3 assessments/day (face-to-face, online or phone). Format aligns with DWP’s assessment process
About you
Qualifications and experience:
- Qualification: NMC-registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC-registered paramedic/occupational therapist/physiotherapist. Valid PIN and no current restrictions.
- Experience: Minimum one year post-registration.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and observational abilities.
- Empathy and insightful questioning.
- Speed and accuracy under structured targets.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and remote-system adaptability.
