Interim Fund Accountant
Cedar is partnered with a PE-backed investment business in the City of London to appoint an Interim Fund Accountant for a 6-12 month assignment. The role is paying £450-£650 per day.
The Company
The business operates a growing investment platform across multiple entities and jurisdictions, with an active portfolio and ongoing transaction activity. The finance team supports the wider investment function across fund accounting, reporting, cash management, investor requirements and deal activity, working closely with senior stakeholders, lenders, advisers and external service providers.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Interim Fund Accountant will take ownership of fund and investment accounting across a portfolio of entities. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning monthly, quarterly and year-end fund accounting and reporting.
- Reviewing financial information across investment entities and underlying structures.
- Coordinating consolidations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Supporting capital calls, distributions and intercompany funding movements.
- Managing cash positions and liquidity across the structure.
- Supporting investor reporting and other stakeholder requirements.
- Assisting with lender reporting, covenant calculations and cash waterfalls.
- Supporting acquisitions, disposals and transaction-related accounting.
- Coordinating statutory accounts, year-end audit and external reporting.

Your Profile
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
- Strong fund accounting, investment accounting or portfolio finance experience.
- Comfortable working across complex multi-entity and SPV structures.
- Strong financial reporting, consolidation and balance sheet capability.
- Experience with capital calls, distributions, cash management and investor reporting.
- Good understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting.
- Exposure to transactions and lender reporting would be useful.
- Experience within private equity, infrastructure or another investment environment would be advantageous.
- £450-£650 per day should represent a fair market rate for your experience or a logical progression from your previous compensation.

Compensation & Working Arrangements
This Interim Fund Accountant assignment is expected to run for 6-12 months, with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week in impressive City of London offices. The role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, investor reporting, cash management and transaction activity within a PE-backed investment business, with a day rate of £450-£650 per day.
