About Clean Growth Fund

Clean Growth Fund is a venture capital firm backing innovative climate tech companies. We have two funds. Our first fund has built a portfolio of 19 companies commercialising innovations across the power, transport, industry, buildings, circular economy and agrifood sectors. Our second fund has made 4 investments today and is actively investing. We invest primarily at Series A, with the aim of building a balanced portfolio of hardware, software and business model innovations.

Our investor base brings together public and private capital, including the UK government's Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, CCLA Investment Management, nine UK local government pension funds, Aviva and Queen's College Cambridge.

We also benefit from investment advisory services and incubation support from Carbon Limiting Technologies, a specialist consultancy supporting innovators, corporates, investors and the public sector.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Fund Accountant to join our finance team in London. This is a broad, hands-on role with real ownership from day one: you will work across two funds and the management company, see the full quarterly cycle end to end, and deal directly with our institutional LPs, auditors and portfolio companies.

Because we are a small team, this role offers exposure that would typically be split across several people in a larger organisation. You will report directly to the CFO and have a clear path to develop technical depth across fund accounting, investor reporting, valuations and regulatory compliance. It suits someone who wants to build a career in venture capital fund operations rather than stay in a narrow reporting function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
