An established and growing independent Financial Services business is looking to expand its London Fund Accounting team with multiple Fund Accountant hires.

The business supports institutional and private clients across Funds, Corporate Services and Private Wealth, with an established international presence and continued growth plans.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Fund Accountant looking to develop their career within private capital and alternative investments.

Working as part of the Fund Accounting team, you will be responsible for delivering accounting and reporting requirements across a portfolio of private equity, private credit and/or real estate fund structures.

The position offers broad exposure across fund accounting, investor reporting, treasury, drawdowns and distributions, alongside direct interaction with clients and external advisers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare accounting records for a portfolio of alternative investment funds.
  • Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Produce periodic management accounts and quarterly investor reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of audited and unaudited annual financial statements.
  • Prepare drawdown and distribution notices for funds.
  • Support treasury, liquidity and bridging facility reporting.
  • Respond to investor queries and support wider investor relations requirements.
  • Assist tax advisers with information required for VAT and corporate tax returns.
  • Review financial transactions processed by junior members of the team.
  • Work closely with auditors, tax advisers, lawyers and other external service providers.
  • Support and train junior colleagues as experience develops.
  • Contribute to projects designed to improve accounting processes, policies and procedures.
  • Take increasing ownership of the day-to-day delivery of an allocated fund portfolio.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Studying towards an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Previous experience within fund accounting, fund administration or fund finance.
  • Exposure to private equity, private credit/debt, real estate funds or other illiquid alternative investments is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of technical accounting for private capital funds, including FRS 102, would be advantageous.
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office capability.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Comfortable operating in a client-facing environment.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient and able to take ownership of your workload.

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Permanent or FTC Option
  • Salary: c.£40,000
  • London
  • Hybrid working – minimum 3 days per week in the office
  • Study/professional qualification progression
