Fund Accountant
A boutique private equity firm is looking to hire a Fund Accountant to join its London-based finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant to develop their career within a high-performing, investment-focused environment and gain broad exposure across the full transaction lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work closely with the wider finance, operations and deal team, providing financial insight and support from initial transaction through to exit. The role will suit someone who combines strong technical and analytical skills with commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in using data, AI and technology to improve finance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the accounting and financial reporting requirements across a portfolio of private equity investments and funds.
- Partner closely with the deal team throughout the transaction lifecycle, providing financial analysis, insight and support.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial information, management reporting and analysis.
- Analyse financial and operational data, identifying trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop clear and effective reporting and data visualisations to communicate financial information and insights to investment and finance stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external advisers, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.
- Support transaction-related activity, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and other corporate actions.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement, automation and AI-enabled enhancement of finance processes, systems and reporting.
- Explore opportunities to use emerging technologies and data tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across the broader finance and investment teams.
- Take ownership of projects and ad-hoc analysis, with the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the wider finance function.

- ACA/ ACCA Qualified with a background in audit, ideally gained within a leading accounting or professional services firm.
- 0–2 years of relevant fund finance / fund accounting experience, ideally within another private equity or alternative investment environment.
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel and broader data analysis skills, with an ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate insights clearly.
- Experience with, or a strong interest in, data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
- A genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies, with the curiosity to explore how AI can be applied to improve financial analysis, reporting and processes.
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively with senior stakeholders and investment professionals.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- A collaborative and commercially minded approach, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
- A relevant accounting qualification or progress towards qualification would be advantageous.
