A well-established mid-market private equity fund is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its Finance function to assist in providing internal fund accounting as well as reporting to external investors.
The individual will be working closely with the Fund Controller and CFO, looking after the accounting and reporting on multiple funds as well as liaising closely with auditors, tax advisors, and investors on all fund matters. The role will encompass:
- Reviewing and delivering accurate and timely quarterly Fund accounts, Fund KPIs, and IRRs, and annual audited Fund accounts.
- Managing the annual Funds’ audit.
- Managing biannual valuation of portfolio investments.
- Supervising and coaching a junior fund accountant.
- Taking ownership of Fund and new deal compliance matters, assisting with regulatory compliance (FCA, SEC, etc.), compliance record keeping, and continuous monitoring.
- Reviewing and assisting with the preparation of Fund tax returns, pro-forma K-1/K-3s, AEOI returns, ERS submissions.
- Taking and writing up of Investment Committee minutes.
- Providing input for bi-annual Fund Investment Review.
- Assisting with Fundraising/IR activities.
- Liaising with the front office as required to ensure underlying portfolio investment information is fed through to the back office on a timely and accurate basis and providing deal support.
- Calculation, reporting, collection, and monitoring of investment portfolio cash flows.
- Safekeeping of all share, loan, and tax certificates.
- Investment and income reconciliations for audit and tax compliance.
- Reviewing FIS Investran database entries and managing the reporting function.
- Reviewing and assisting with the preparation of investor drawdowns and distributions, managing the cash flows of the Funds.
- Regular and ad-hoc accounting and tax reporting to investors and deal teams.

Qualifications, Experience, and Key Characteristics:

- Qualified Chartered / Certified Accountant.
- Good understanding of fund operations, including valuation, accounting, and payment procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced, nested functions, understanding of VBA macros) and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Diligence and attention to detail.
- Methodical, self-starter, hands-on, and good team player.
