A fast-growing VC investment firm — on track to double its AUM by the end of the year — is expanding its finance function and looking for a newly qualified accountant to join at a pivotal point in its growth.

This is a genuine step out of practice and into industry, working directly alongside the Head of Fund Accounting and with regular exposure to the CFO. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate auditing PE/VC clients to see the other side of the table, including deal launches, live NAVs, investor negotiations.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the fund administrator and holding them to account on delivery and accuracy
  • Review financial statements, management accounts, quarterly NAVs, and capital statements
  • Review and maintain valuations and fund performance metrics
  • Preparation of financial data and commentary for internal and external investment committees
  • Building and maintaining fund budgets and forecasts
  • Leading the annual audit process — this time from the client side
  • Supporting fundraising activity, including DDQs and PPMs
  • Monitoring regulatory and tax filings and compliance obligations
  • Getting to grips with LPA compliance for new fund launches
  • Regular interaction with investor relations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified, ideally within the last 1–2 years
  • Audit background with exposure to private equity or venture capital fund clients (Big 4 or top-tier mid-market welcomed)
  • Solid technical accounting grounding, with genuine curiosity to learn PE/VC-specific principles rather than deep prior industry experience
  • Strong academic background – minimum 2:1 degree
  • Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders in a small, fast-paced team — this isn't a role for someone who wants to stay behind the scenes
  • A good understanding of common fund structures is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
