I’m working with a leading global private markets investment firm that is looking to appoint a Fund Accountant into its growing European Real Estate platform.

This is a superb opportunity for someone looking to move beyond a traditional, processing-heavy fund accounting role, aimed at someone making a first move from Audit (with relevant funds clients), fund admin or another private markets focused fund manager.

With much of the day-to-day accounting outsourced, the position is focused on oversight of the fund administrator, review and quality control, investor and financial reporting, audit coordination and broader fund operations, while retaining some hands-on accounting responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversight and review of fund administrator output, including bookkeeping, NAVs and record maintenance
  • Review of quarterly LP reporting and annual financial statements
  • Day-to-day management of the outsourced fund administrator relationship
  • Coordination with auditors, tax advisers, legal counsel and other external providers
  • Supporting annual audits across funds and investment holding entities
  • Supporting the Real Estate Finance & Operations team on transactions, including entity incorporations, AML requirements and funds-flow documentation
  • Performing reconciliations between administrator-produced data and internal records
  • Supporting technical accounting and structuring queries
  • Maintaining oversight of a small number of legacy entities that remain accounted for in-house
  • Providing mentoring and technical support to a Junior Fund Accountant

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
