London (hybrid) | Global asset manager | Fund Operations
Daily dealing funds are where this role lives. A leading global asset manager is hiring a Fund Accounting Senior Specialist to be the technical authority on valuation and NAV — the person who spots the risk in a fund merger before anyone else does, and turns up with the solution rather than the escalation.
What you'll need — the non-negotiables:
- Strong fund accounting experience across daily dealing funds. This is the core of the role and the first thing we'll look for. Hedge fund exposure alongside it is a real advantage.
- Deep technical grounding in swing pricing, fair valuation, valuation points and performance fees. These four come up constantly, you need to have owned them, not observed them.
- Product change experience as a subject matter expert — onboardings, launches, closures, mergers, transitions, and everything they throw up in fund accounting terms.
- Genuine problem-solving instinct. You identify risks, propose solutions and think ahead. This is not a role for someone who executes tasks and waits.
- Confidence running cross-functional processes, coordinating comfortably with front office, compliance and middle office.
- Initiative and commercial judgement — you think an issue through and arrive with options before escalating.
- Strong Excel, and communication skills that stand up in front of senior stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
