Fund Activation Manager
(Internal to Rethink Ireland staff ONLY)
Contract: 2 years, Full Time, Fixed Term Contract
Based: Dublin, Cork, Galway with some travel within Ireland
Salary: €50,000 - €63,000 per annum subject to experience
Benefits: 24 days Annual Leave and employer pension contribution
Hybrid Working: Opportunity to work mostly from home
ROLE PURPOSE
Working in a high growth and fast-paced environment, The Fund Activation Manager will lead and manage the Fund Activation team/function, which is responsible for managing Fund open calls for applications and coordinating the associated selection processes. This team also manages financial and governance reviews of applications, internal open calls, and selection process budgets.
Working closely with all teams, Business Development, Marketing, Portfolio Management, and Finance, the Fund Activation Manager will be a critical relationship manager with Rethink Ireland applicants, donors, and Rethink Ireland teams. This is an exciting and crucial role sitting at the heart of Rethink Ireland.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will lead the Fund Activation/Selection process, work closely with Fund Managers, support the implementation of our process guidelines, and collaborate with the Portfolio Management and Business Development teams.
- Lead and manage the Fund Activation team/function, setting priorities and ensuring effective delivery across fund activation and selection activity.
- Support the scoping phase and development of new funds.
- Coordinate the onboarding process of donors and new funds.
- Manage open call and launch of new funds, leading the entire selection process in consultation with the Fund Manager.
- Lead project teams to deliver on plans, budgets, and ensure timelines are met.
- Manage relationships with different stakeholders during these processes (applicants, reviewers, relevant experts, and donors), in particular our financial and governance consultant.
- Support the implementation of clearer process guidelines for all Business units that drive greater efficiencies.
- Set (in conjunction with your line manager), and meet programme targets, deliver selection processes on budget, and line manage other team members where requested.
- Participate in our strategic implementation plan projects and lead on Operations-specific projects.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and events as requested.
- Support the work of the Operations Business Unit as a whole.
- Contribute your ideas on the future development of Rethink Ireland to the team.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5–7 years’ relevant experience in programme, project, or operational management.
- Experience leading a team and/or function, including setting priorities, coordinating delivery, and supporting others to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Strong project management experience, with a track record of delivering complex processes to deadlines and within budget.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with experience working across teams and with external partners.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft tools and Salesforce.
