Equifind are supporting a global household name in private equity to hire a Fund Controller, helping them build out a growing private credit business.

Covering a variety of credit products, this role is a great opportunity. What makes it attractive is that it's a build role, not maintenance, giving you the chance to shape the finance function as the product scales, from initial ramp-up through to a fully established issuance programme.

You'd effectively be the financial owner of the manager entity, controlling the debt issuers: waterfalls, NAV and collateral reporting oversight, fee income and returns on retained notes, and building out the reporting/control framework as the platform grows.

You've got the confidence of a group with substantial capital behind it and a strong track record, coupled with the opportunity to work in a newer part of the business, where you'll have genuine influence and say in how the fund is run, put your own stamp on things, and truly spread your wings in a broad remit.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
