The Role

The Fund Controller will take ownership of financial reporting, NAV production and investor reporting across the firm's credit fund structures. This is a hands-on technically demanding role suited to a qualified accountant with strong private credit or direct lending fund experience, who can operate independently while partnering closely with Investor Relations, the Investment team, and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the quarterly and annual NAV production process for one or more credit fund vehicles, including review of valuations, accruals, fee calculations and waterfall/carry mechanics.
  • Prepare and review fund-level and SPV-level financial statements under IFRS and/or Lux GAAP, coordinating with local administrators and accountants across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Manage the capital call and distribution process, including supporting calculations, investor notices and cash movement instructions.
  • Produce quarterly investor reporting packs, including performance metrics (IRR, MOIC, DPI, TVPI), portfolio commentary and compliance with LPA/side letter reporting requirements.
  • Monitor fund-level and portfolio company debt facilities, including covenant compliance, borrowing base calculations and liaison with lenders where required.
  • Own the relationship with third-party fund administrators, auditors and tax advisors, ensuring service levels are met and costs are controlled.
  • Lead or support the year-end audit process across fund entities, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Support fundraising activity, including DDQ responses, data room preparation and ad hoc investor queries.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new fund structures, credit facilities or SPVs, including input into fund documentation and operational set-up.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
