Interim Fund Formation Lawyer | Private Funds | London
Location: London, hybrid working with regular office attendance
Duration: Initial 6 months
Start: September / October
Rate: Competitive day rate depending on experience

We are working with a leading investment business looking to appoint an Interim Fund Formation Lawyer to support its legal team for an initial 6-month period.

This is a hands-on role with a particular focus on private fund formation and investment management work. The successful lawyer will work closely with the investment team and senior stakeholders and will have the opportunity to take significant ownership of matters from an early stage.
The role will include:
- Supporting and leading private fund formations
- Drafting and negotiating key fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs, and related agreements
- Working closely with investment professionals and senior stakeholders
- Managing and coordinating external counsel where required
- Advising on ongoing private funds and investment management matters
- Supporting wider transactional and legal matters across a lean legal team

The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong private funds / investment management experience
- Fund formation experience gained within a leading law firm and/or investment manager
- Experience drafting and negotiating core fund documentation
- The ability to operate independently and work directly with investment professionals
- Previous in-house or secondment experience would be helpful but is not essential
