An exciting opportunity to join our great growth debt firm specialising in investing in technology companies. This role has excellent exposure across the whole business. As we continue to grow, this is a great opportunity for a Fund Operations professional with a commercial spirit to grow with the team. Reporting to the COO, the role is a crucial conduit between the Operations team, Investment team and portfolio companies:
Key Responsibilities
- Review quarterly NAV statements, prepared by the third-party administrator, as part of our four-eye principle
- Gathering of monthly financial data from portfolio companies including KPIs
- Oversight of external portfolio data reconciliation provider
- Monitoring and reporting on cash flow and the drivers behind the returns
- Calculations of yields / IRR
- Manage calls and distribution calculation
- Develop fund models for investor reporting and projection
- Managed treasury operations across all funds including payment runs, investor distributions, capital calls, and equalisations in line with investment timelines
- Preparation of drawdown and distribution calculations for internal review ahead of submitting to the administrator
- Partner with Investment team to review investment financial models against legal documentation, ensuring compliance with AML, Depositary, AIFM, KYC, and Investment Committee approvals prior to funding
- Oversight of monthly loan invoicing and reconciliation of cash receipts
- Updating portfolio monitoring software for review by Investment team and COO
- Ensure credit ratings and valuations are updated in line with the monthly portfolio review
- Maintain portfolio dashboards including updating cap tables, VC details etc
- Contribute to the improvement in reporting at Fund and portfolio level
- Assist in improving ESG reporting, including identifying and testing software
- Coordinating weekly internal portfolio monitoring calls
- Monthly calls with portfolio companies alongside a member of the Investment team
- Monitoring of warrant positions across financing rounds
- Manage all ad-hoc inbound enquiries from Portfolio companies to include payment variances, audit confirmations and general queries
- Communicating amendments to loan agreements to relevant parties including administrators
- Lead on the audit of the fund vehicles – including but not limited to:
- Preparation of certain aspects of the valuation report for review
- Provision of supporting documents
- Review of fund financial statements
- Continuous improvement of systems and processes, looking to automate and implement AI where appropriate
- Ad-hoc projects as instructed by the COO

Requirements

- Chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent), preferred but not essential
- Understanding of closed-end fund structure
- Able to articulate the components of a NAV value chain and what drives returns
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong financial modelling skills in Excel, ideally with exposure to Power BI or similar
- Highly numerate, detail-oriented, methodical in prioritising work, enjoys multi-tasking and able to demonstrate attention to detail
- Ability to work with discretion when dealing with confidential information
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment
