Funds Sales Specialist

The Funds Sales Specialist role involves creating and developing business opportunities with UK-based intermediaries (IFA and Restricted) as well as discretionary investment firms, in order to sell TrinityBridge’s full fund range and protect assets already under management.

TrinityBridge’s fund range of investment services includes multi-asset and single-asset class funds, active and passive strategies, sustainable funds as well as a segregated inheritance-tax-managed service.

The Fund Sales Specialist is expected to be an independent self-starter whose primary focus is sourcing and closing deals to grow AUM. The role holder will also be part of a supportive and collegiate environment and work in collaboration with colleagues from across the business including Fund Managers, Investment Specialists, DDQ/RFP, Intermediary Support team, Marketing and other business development peers.

This is a home-based role linked to the London Head Office, so applicants must be based within commuting distance of London.

National travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively pursue, identify and close new fund sales opportunities with UK-based intermediaries, discretionary investment firms and gatekeepers, securing profitable business flows
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of realistic, quality prospects and leads, keeping it up-to-date and focused on key accounts and opportunities
  • Deliver against ambitious sales targets and KPIs
  • Demonstrable understanding of the tax and operational structures used by intermediaries e.g. Pensions, ISAs, Bonds, GIAs, Trusts and Platforms
  • Articulate TrinityBridge’s full fund range in a compelling manner and stay up-to-date with all funds and investment strategies
  • Act in a professional and compliant manner at all times
  • Collaborate closely with the Account Manager and Account Director to develop a sales plan for targeted activity
  • Stay up to date on regulatory requirements (FCA, Consumer Duty) affecting fund distribution
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulatory practice

Regulatory Responsibilities | Compliance/T&C

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practicing effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow the principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and Group Compliance and Risk policies.
  • Comply with the PA Dealing policy.
  • Ensure required training is kept up to date and completed within the set timeframe given by TrinityBridge.

As a Certified Person under SMCR, you must accept responsibility and demonstrate an understanding for the regulatory aspects and framework of the FCA certification function(s) that you perform, and ensure you meet and abide by the rules of the FCA’s fit and proper test, and comply with the FCA’s Conduct Rules. Additionally, you must ensure your compliance with all internal policies, procedures and standards.

About You | Qualifications, Skills, and Strengths

  • Minimum of five years’ experience operating in the retail and professional financial services environment, and likely to have a significant book of contacts and relationships
  • Proven track record of success in selling Investment Management/financial products in the UK intermediary / DFM market
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organised
  • Resilience and ability to work against a range of stretching targets
  • Demonstrate both teamwork and self-reliance / independence
  • Willingness to be empowered and supported to deliver and accountable for results and outcomes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the UK wealth management and financial adviser / intermediary landscape and broader industry trends (such as the current retirement landscape)
  • Demonstrable investment knowledge and understanding of how advisers and intermediaries use investment funds, products and services to deliver good client outcomes for their clients
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of, and ability to work within, the regulatory environment to ensure business is always delivered in a compliant way with good client outcomes
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
  • Ideally qualified to QCA Level 4 or above
  • Highly motivated and flexible to travel across the UK
