Job Role: Funding & Compliance Lead
Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 + 6% performance bonus
Working Location: Home Based
Please note that there is a requirement to travel to our Milton Keynes head office at least twice a month
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Job Summary
As Funding & Compliance Lead, you’ll be the subject matter expert for apprenticeship funding compliance and Individualised Learner Record (ILR) management, helping ensure our apprenticeship programmes are accurate, compliant and delivered to a high standard. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll provide expert guidance on DfE funding rules, manage complex funding and data queries, oversee ILR submissions and data quality, and use insight and reporting to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead on apprenticeship funding compliance, ILR management and complex learner data queries.
- Manage Apprenticeship Service (TAS/DAS) data mismatches (DLOCKs), investigating issues and driving timely resolution.
- Oversee monthly ILR submissions, DfE validation reports, FRM reports and PDSAT records.
- Support learner and employer onboarding, providing guidance on funding eligibility, compliance and programme suitability.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and management information, using data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues on DfE funding rules, ILR requirements and Apprenticeship Service processes.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring evidence and compliance documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
- Work collaboratively across the business to improve data quality, processes and compliance.
- Keep up to date with changes to apprenticeship funding rules, policy and regulation and help embed these effectively.

What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in apprenticeship funding, compliance and ILR data within a DfE-funded apprenticeship provider.
- Strong knowledge of DfE apprenticeship funding rules, ILR specifications and Apprenticeship Service processes.
- Proven experience managing TAS/DAS data, DLOCKs, ILR submissions and validation reports.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and data analysis.
- Experience using an MIS for learner data management and ILR processing.
- Experience creating and interpreting Power BI dashboards and management information.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Confident communicating complex funding and compliance requirements to a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks, improving processes and maintaining high standards of data quality and compliance.
- GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics, alongside relevant continuing professional development.
