We're looking for a Fundraising Officer to join the team at The Big House.
This is a full-time role in our Islington space where you'll work alongside our fantastic fundraising team (and our office dog, Nellie). We're open to a range of experience, including fresh graduates - as long as you're passionate and excited, we want to hear from you!

Primary function of the role
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Fundraising Officer to support our fundraising team in delivering the outcomes of our Fundraising Strategy.
This role will be mentored by the Fundraising Executive and focus on income generation from Trusts and Foundations. It will involve bid writing, nurturing current and generating new funding relationships and the day-to-day administration of The Big House’s reporting deadlines.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Fundraising Executive on the everyday management of the fundraising pipeline to make sure that we have a strong list of relevant prospects and that the weighted pipeline value covers our funding gap.

About The Big House
The Big House has a simple mission: to enable care leavers to fulfil their potential.
Through drama and individualised long-term support we help care leavers overcome traumas experienced in childhood so they can make the complex transition from looked-after child to independent adult. The Big House's main activities are: weekly drop-in drama and employment workshops and the 3-month Open House Project which runs twice yearly, and standalone co-productions in our venue and across the UK.
Through our work we have seen the transformational effect that drama can have on young people’s lives. The strict discipline required to produce professional theatre imparts vital transferable skills including time keeping, focus, team working, effective communication, ability to regulate emotions and make better informed decisions; empowering and equipping young people with the skills needed to become self-reliant. We have found drama to be an excellent tool for engaging young people in the project. Since being established in November 2012, The Big House has gone from start-up to award-winning charity.
