Wild Oak Runs The Wellspring
Wild Oak runs The Wellspring — a nature-based co-mentoring programme for men in South Dartmoor. Can you help us build a fundraising strategy that sustains and grows this vital work?
What Difference Will You Make?
A strong fundraising foundation doesn't just bring in income — it gives an organisation the confidence to plan, commit, and grow. With your support, Ollie will be able to pursue funding opportunities strategically rather than reactively, reducing the precarity that many small CICs face in their early years.
Beyond individual grants, your guidance will help build the fundraising habits and systems that underpin everything else we do — from making compelling cases for support to demonstrating impact in language that resonates with funders. As Wild Oak grows, getting this right now will directly strengthen our capacity to sustain and expand The Wellspring, and to reach more of the men in South Dartmoor who need it most.
What Are We Looking For?
We're looking for an experienced fundraiser who understands the landscape of trust and grant funding for health, wellbeing, or community organisations — and ideally has experience working with CICs, social enterprises, or small charities in their early stages of development. A track record of successful applications and some familiarity with the green social prescribing or nature-based health sector would be a real bonus, though not essential.

Wild Oak CIC is a small but growing nature-based men's wellbeing organisation based in Buckfastleigh, South Devon. We run The Wellspring — a co-mentoring and ecotherapy programme for men in South Dartmoor — and are entering an exciting new phase, with new referral partnerships, a growing evidence base, and increasing interest from funders and commissioners.
We're looking for an experienced fundraiser to help us develop and deliver a fundraising strategy that puts Wild Oak on a sustainable financial footing. This might include mapping the funding landscape for nature-based health and social prescribing, identifying trust and grant opportunities, supporting applications, and helping us think about longer-term income diversification beyond project grants.
You'd be working directly with Ollie, Wild Oak's founder and director, on an ad hoc basis — offering strategic guidance, reviewing applications, and helping us build the fundraising confidence and capability to grow independently over time.
