Fundraising and Communications Officer
Application Deadline: 23 August 2026
Department: Fundraising
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: London Office
Reporting To: Matrix Management: Senior Corporate Partnerships Account Manager and Communications Manager
Compensation: £31,098 / year
Description
Children and young people in London matter; their voices, experiences, and futures. They deserve every chance to make the most of their lives. But too many young people can't because they don't have the opportunities to help them thrive. This is where transformational youth work comes in, offering somewhere to go, something to do, someone to trust.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer plays a vital and diverse role in the success of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate and London Youth as a whole. As well as taking on your own specific projects, you will offer support to the wider Fundraising and Communications Directorate across events, different income streams, and communications projects as we work to achieve our targets in excess of £3.6m. You will collaborate with colleagues, funders, and partners and meet youth workers and young people as we look to engage and inspire audiences in support of transformational youth work.
What you will be doing
- Support the Corporate Partnerships Account Manager to deliver challenging events, digital fundraising, and volunteering.
- Support the Fundraising and Communications directorate in the development and delivery of events, including the London Youth Awards, site visits, lunch and learns, Born Ambitious, and the AGM.
- Support the Fundraising and Communications directorate in the development and implementation of a new income stream.
- Support the Communications team on the development and delivery of on and offline communications assets.
- Be the first point of contact for all fundraising and communications enquiries.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure all pages on our website are up to date, accurate, and compelling, and position our charity as a credible partner of funders.
- Undertake research on behalf of the Fundraising and Communications teams as appropriate.
- Provide essential administrative support to the Fundraising and Communications Directorate.
- Ensure all information is recorded in an accurate and timely manner across all relevant systems and in line with relevant processes and procedures, including Salesforce and Sharepoint.
- Contribute to the team's annual plans, strategies, budget planning, and reforecasts where appropriate.
- Understand, support, and communicate the vision, mission, and aims of London Youth and the needs of young people and youth organisations.
- Reflect our inclusive culture in your day-to-day work and support a positive health & safety and safeguarding culture in your interactions with colleagues, young people, and youth organisations.
- Follow our organisations anti-racism principles and practices as you actively promote and respect diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work and working relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
