About BHT Sussex
BHT Sussex is a leading person and values-centred charity and housing association supporting people across Sussex who are experiencing homelessness, mental ill health and other complex needs. Our mission is: Combating Homelessness, Creating Opportunity and Promoting Change. We are guided by our strategic priorities of Sustainability, Quality and Growth.
About the Role
This is a hands-on fundraising role focused on growing sustainable income for BHT Sussex, with corporate partnerships as the lead priority.
The Fundraising and Partnerships Manager will develop and deliver a practical fundraising strategy, set realistic income targets, and build a strong pipeline of corporate supporters, donors and funding opportunities.
As the fundraising function is currently small, the role will require a collaborative and creative approach, with scope to shape future team capacity as income grows. It is anticipated there may be future line management responsibilities if the fundraising team expands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
