Hampton Hill Theatre is beginning to professionalise our fundraising — small committee, supportive trustees, 100 years of stories. We’re not looking for you to deliver a finished operation day one but to help us decide what good looks like and to grow at a pace that’s sustainable

What difference will you make?

You’d play a meaningful role in strengthening the future of one of southwest London’s most loved community theatres, working alongside creative, committed people who care deeply about the arts. It’s a chance to shape, not just sustain — and to do it with people who will back you.

What are we looking for?

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in fundraising, development, or strategic communications (professional or voluntary)
  • A strategic mindset, and a willingness to start with foundations before reaching for sophistication
  • A collaborative, generous approach — this is volunteer-led work
  • A genuine affection for theatre, the arts, and community life

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We’re more interested in mindset and experience than hours on a timesheet. A few hours a week is a starting point; the rhythm is yours to shape.

What will you be doing?

You’d work alongside the Board and a group of engaged volunteers. The breadth and ambition of the role is genuinely shaped by you. There’s room to focus tightly on a few priorities to begin with, or to range across the full fundraising mix as confidence and capacity grow. The sky’s the limit; the floor is firm.

What the role could look like...

In the first year, this might mean

  • Helping shape a fundraising strategy aligned with the theatre’s emerging long-term vision
  • Working with trustees and volunteers to develop a compelling case for support
  • Bringing experience and perspective to a fundraising committee that’s enthusiastic but new to this work
  • Advising on early priorities — where to start, what to leave for later

Over time, and at a pace that suits you, the role could grow to include guiding a broader programme across individual giving, trusts, corporate partnerships, and the centenary moment itself. How far that goes is your call.
