Help us raise the income that supports Better Mental Health for All.

Birmingham Mind is the largest independent mental health charity in Birmingham. Since 1962, we have supported people across the city through high quality, person-centred mental health services.

Our vision is Better Mental Health for All, and our values shape how we work: we celebrate people, we are better together, we inspire hope, we champion change and we bridge the gap.

We are looking for a passionate, creative and values-led Fundraising Lead to develop and deliver engaging fundraising activity, grow voluntary income and build lasting relationships with supporters and partners. This is an exciting role for someone who can combine strong fundraising and relationship management experience with a genuine commitment to improving mental health support for people and communities.

About the Role

As Fundraising Lead, you will play a central role in growing Birmingham Mind’s voluntary income. You will develop and deliver our Fundraising Strategy, create compelling campaigns and supporter materials, and build strong relationships with businesses, community groups, individuals, volunteers and Fundraising Ambassadors across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

You will line manage our Fundraising and Training Coordinator, ensuring effective administrative support and a positive, consistent experience for supporters and partners. You will also work closely with the Business Development Manager and colleagues across communications, finance, services and volunteering to plan campaigns and events, identify new opportunities, steward donors and track and report income and impact.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a varied and influential role for someone who enjoys turning ideas into engaging fundraising activity, building trusted relationships and inspiring people to support Birmingham Mind. The role includes representing the charity at community and networking events and requires flexibility to work outside normal hours when needed.

About You

You will bring at least two years’ experience in fundraising, with a track record of meeting income targets and successfully delivering events, campaigns or projects.
