Senior Grants Fundraising Manager
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid – London
Contract: Full-time

Overview
Our client is an ambitious environmental charity dedicated to improving lives and creating greener, healthier urban communities. They are seeking an experienced Senior Grants Fundraising Manager to lead their trusts, foundations, lottery and statutory fundraising programme. The role will be responsible for securing approximately £1.5 million in annual income, with a particular focus on six-figure and multi-year funding partnerships.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and accomplished grants fundraiser to shape the organisation’s fundraising approach, develop high-value relationships and secure funding that delivers lasting benefits for communities and the natural environment.
Working collaboratively with fundraising, programme delivery, finance and operational teams, the successful candidate will ensure that funding opportunities support the organisation’s strategic priorities and long-term impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive grants fundraising strategy.
- Secure approximately £1.5 million annually from trusts, foundations, government bodies, statutory funders and lottery programmes.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective funding opportunities.
- Identify, cultivate and steward high-value funder relationships.
- Develop six-figure and multi-year funding partnerships.
- Lead the preparation of persuasive, high-quality funding applications, proposals and supporting materials.
- Oversee grant agreements, compliance requirements, monitoring and reporting.
- Monitor fundraising performance against income targets, budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with programme teams to develop fundable projects aligned with organisational priorities.
- Collaborate with finance and operational colleagues to ensure accurate budgeting, reporting and grant management.
- Maintain effective fundraising records, systems and prospect information.
- Provide strategic advice and insight on grant-funding trends and opportunities.
- Line manage and support the development of the Senior Fundraising Coordinator.
- Promote collaborative working, continuous improvement and best practice across the organisation.

Requirements
- Significant experience in trusts, foundations, statutory, government or lottery fundraising.
- A strong track record of securing and managing six-figure or seven-figure grants and partnerships.
- Demonstrable experience of developing successful grant fundraising strategies and income pipelines.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling and evidence-based funding proposals.
- Strong relationship management, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing complex grants, including contractual obligations, reporting and compliance.
- Strong financial skills, including experience of developing project budgets, monitoring income and managing forecasts.
- Excellent organisational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to strict deadlines.
- Experience working collaboratively with programme, finance, fundraising and operational teams.
- Previous line management or staff development experience.
- A strategic, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- A clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
- A genuine interest in environmental improvement, community engagement and the development of greener urban spaces.
- The existing right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
