Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK (PWSA UK) supports individuals, families, and caregivers affected by Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes a near-constant feeling of hunger, as well as learning and physical disabilities. The organization provides information, advocacy, and practical assistance to help improve quality of life and access to appropriate care. PWSA UK works closely with health and social care professionals to raise awareness and understanding of the condition. The charity aims to build a strong, informed community and secure the resources needed to support those living with Prader-Willi syndrome across the UK.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Fundraising Manager – Major Giving. The role involves managing and growing relationships with major donors, including identifying prospects, developing tailored engagement plans, and stewarding long-term partnerships. The Fundraising Manager will design and implement major giving strategies and campaigns, prepare compelling proposals and reports, and ensure effective donor communication across multiple channels. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records, collaborating with colleagues to align fundraising activities with organizational priorities, and monitoring performance against income targets. The role also includes researching philanthropic trends, representing PWSA UK at virtual and occasional in-person meetings or events, and contributing to the overall fundraising strategy of the charity.

- Experience working with Major Donors and delivering successful Major Giving or high-value fundraising programs.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to craft clear, persuasive written materials and build confident, trust-based relationships.
- Knowledge of Philanthropy and Charities, with an understanding of the UK charity sector and donor motivations.
- Experience with Annual Giving or regular giving campaigns, preferably within a nonprofit or charity environment.
- Proven ability to set and meet income targets, plan and prioritize workloads, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Competence in using CRM or fundraising databases, and basic skills in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
- Commitment to the mission of PWSA UK and sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities and their families.
- Relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management; a degree or professional qualification in fundraising, nonprofit management, or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
