About SiMY
SiMY Community Development is a Glasgow charity working with young people aged 8–18 and their families in and around the Townhead area of the city centre. For over 26 years, we have created opportunities for young people and their families to realise their potential through nature, outdoor activities, creativity and supportive relationships.
Our work is delivered through three programme areas: Gardening, Outdoor Activities and Creative. We mainly work with young people experiencing economic disadvantage and other barriers to participation.
About the role
This is a new role at an important time for SiMY. We want to strengthen and diversify our income so we can continue to provide opportunities for young people and families and build a more secure future for the organisation.
You will lead our trusts and grants fundraising and develop relationships with businesses and corporate partners. You will identify opportunities, write funding applications, manage our funding pipeline and build strong relationships with funders and partners.
You will work closely with the CEO, Programme Leads and Admin & Finance Officer to develop strong applications based on our programmes, evidence and financial information.
As a new role, you will have the opportunity to help shape SiMY's approach to fundraising and corporate partnerships. Your work will directly support the opportunities we can provide for young people and help SiMY become more financially sustainable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
