About us

Been There is a UK charity providing safe, one-to-one peer support for adults affected by eating disorders and body image challenges. Through our trained volunteer Peer Mentors, we connect people with someone who has lived through similar experiences, helping them feel understood, supported and less alone. We've spent the last few years building strong foundations: a clinically supported service, robust safeguarding processes, an experienced volunteer network and a digital platform designed to safely deliver peer support. Now we're entering our next stage of growth and are looking for an exceptional Fundraising and Partnership Manager to join us.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is as comfortable writing a brilliant funding proposition as they are sitting across the table from a potential corporate partner and bringing Been There to life.

You will be an exceptional communicator and natural relationship builder: someone who can understand a complex idea, find the heart of it and articulate it simply and powerfully.

You will be proactive. You will enjoy meeting people, making connections and spotting opportunities. You won’t be afraid to pick up the phone, ask for a meeting, make a pitch or follow up.

Most importantly, you will be genuinely passionate about what Been There is trying to achieve and able to communicate that passion in a way that makes other people want to be part of it.

Purpose

To drive long-term funding and support by building strategic fundraising partnerships to enable Been There to grow and develop our peer support services.

Key Responsibilities

Trusts, Foundations & Grant Funding

  • Lead and deliver Been There’s trusts and foundations fundraising programme.
  • Research and identify trusts, foundations, statutory bodies and other grant-making organisations aligned with our work.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective funders.
  • Write funding applications, proposals and expressions of interest that clearly and compellingly communicate Been There’s work and impact.
  • Develop larger and multi-year funding applications.
  • Develop and agree financial targets and performance metrics adjusting when necessary. Provide regular reports including supporting evidence.
  • Manage application deadlines and maintain accurate records of applications, relationships and outcomes.

Corporate Fundraising & Partnerships

  • Research and identify organisations with the potential to be significant supporters and long-term partners of Been There.
  • Proactively build relationships with prospective corporate partners, identifying opportunities for partnership including sponsorship, corporate giving, employee fundraising and corporate foundations.
  • Develop and deliver compelling propositions and tailored pitches online or in-person.
  • Work closely with the CEO to cultivate and convert high-value corporate opportunities.
  • Attend networking events, meetings and relevant industry events to build Been There’s network and generate new opportunities.
  • Develop existing corporate relationships into deeper, longer-term partnerships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
