What will you be doing?
We're looking for a new trustee, someone who will contribute to the future direction and sustainability of our charity. We are facing a challenging period financially, as cuts to local authority funding may soon start to have an impact on our ability to deliver our service. We need to increase our income through grants and general fundraising. We are looking for someone to lead our organisation's fundraising activities at trustee board level. Our service is free to everyone, so it is essential to maintain an income that will allow us to be operational for years to come.
The board meets every two months, and performs a critical role in supporting the operational managers and determining the future path of the charity. You will be involved in the management and planning decisions, as well as in fundraising.

What are we looking for?
Our priority is to find someone with fundraising experience who will lead on our overall funding strategy and also collaborate with existing staff and trustees when preparing funding applications, organising activities, and developing new and innovative ways for our organisation to generate income. You don't need to have management and strategic planning experience, but if you have that would be great. If you don't, then this would be an opportunity for you to develop those skills. Our current trustees and staff would support you through the first few months, and help you understand the charity's operations and its processes.

Here at Citizens Advice Charnwood we help around 3,500 people per year with the everyday problems they face, particularly the impacts of the current cost-of-living crisis. Our advice makes a real difference to people's lives and improves health and wellbeing. You could play a part in this by helping to ensure we have a sustainable future and adequate resources to continue helping people living in the Charnwood area.
