Role Description

This full-time on-site Funeral Arranger role is based in Weston-Super-Mare. The Funeral Arranger will support families in planning and organizing funeral services, including discussing options, gathering essential information, and coordinating service details.

  • Liaising with funeral directors, crematoria, cemeteries, clergy, and other service providers to ensure all arrangements run smoothly.
  • Preparing documentation, maintaining accurate records.
  • Providing clear, empathetic communication to clients.
  • Contributing to the smooth operation of the funeral home.
  • Assisting with viewings.
  • Upholding professional standards of care and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in funeral homes or funeral services, with an understanding of funeral arranging processes.
  • Skills and knowledge in embalming or basic familiarity with mortuary procedures (formal qualifications or training a plus).
  • Strong family services and client support skills, with the ability to offer calm, empathetic guidance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to handle sensitive conversations with care.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple arrangements and deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a funeral home environment and willingness to adhere to health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use office software for scheduling, documentation, and record keeping.
  • Previous experience in bereavement support, healthcare, or community services is beneficial.
  • Valid right to work in the UK and flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
