Position: Funeral Service Specialist
Location: W G Rathbone Funeral Directors, Stratford Upon Avon
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent - 20 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday 9am-5pm & Wednesday 9am - 2pm.
Salary: £13,936 per annum
We're looking for an empathetic, well-organised individual to join our team at W G Rathbone Funeral Directors, Stratford Upon Avon as a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One). You'll take the lead in running the branch day to day, supporting families and building trusted local relationships, with training to guide families through Funeral Plans and support ceremonial duties when needed.

Your Impact And Responsibilities
This role calls for empathy, confidence and attention to detail — guiding people through funeral arrangements with care, introducing the support we offer, and making sure every detail is taken care of.
As a Funeral Services Specialist, you will:
- Support families with empathy, professionalism and attention to detail.
- Arrange funerals that meet family wishes, cultural practices and legal requirements, with clarity, compassion and precision.
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including administration and presentation.
- Build relationships with suppliers, care homes and local community groups — including ministers, celebrants and florists.
- Lead chapel visits as required, supporting families with their requests.
- Raise awareness of funeral plans and contribute to plan sales within the branch.
- Train in Funeral Conducting to assist with ceremonial duties during peak times.

Skills And Knowledge
- Compassionate, calm and empathetic in emotionally sensitive situations.
- Experience in customer service, care or admin is beneficial (full training provided).
- Strong communication, organisation and administrative skills, confident with legal paperwork.
- PC literate — Microsoft Office, Outlook and internal systems (training provided).
- Confident working independently with branch-level responsibility.
- Comfortable in settings where the deceased may be resting, including chapel visits.
- Willing to work flexibly, including weekends/on-call if needed.
- Full UK Driving Licence
