Job Title: Furniture Designer (Bespoke Joinery & Upholstery)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent (in-house only not remote)
Location: SW London / Surrey area
Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
About the role:
We are recruiting on behalf of an established, high-end bespoke furniture manufacturer (family-run) with long-term, repeat clients and a strong pipeline of work. The business is growing year on year and is looking to add an experienced Furniture Designer / CAD Technician to support continued demand.
This is an in-house role working closely with the workshop and upholstery and joinery production teams. It will suit an experienced Furniture Designer who understands manufacturing and enjoys hands-on collaboration, not someone focused purely on design for visuals.
You'll take client concepts through to manufacture, producing accurate 2D/3D CAD and detailed technical production packs for bespoke joinery and upholstery-led furniture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
