Lead Furniture Designer

Position

Working alongside the Director, Production Manager, and Interior Design team, you will lead the concept design and development of bespoke joinery, furniture, lighting, and objects for both interior projects and standalone collections.

You will oversee a small team of furniture designers, supporting the creative and technical development of each piece from initial concept through manufacture, delivery, and installation. Responsibilities will include managing drawings, specifications, budgets, quotations, purchase orders, and production schedules while coordinating with specialist makers, ateliers, suppliers, and contractors.

The role also offers the opportunity to travel internationally for supplier meetings, sourcing, and project installations. This is a full-time position based five days a week in the studio.

Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in furniture design and production
  • Proven experience taking bespoke pieces from concept through manufacture and installation
  • Strong production knowledge and experience working directly with specialist makers, workshops, and ateliers
  • Experience leading and supporting a small furniture design team
  • Background within luxury interiors, furniture, or product design
  • Strong understanding of high-end materials, finishes, craftsmanship, and detailing
  • Confident developing bespoke furniture, joinery, lighting, and objects
  • Excellent technical drawing, detailing, and 3D-modelling ability
  • Proficient in Rhino 3D, V-Ray, AutoCAD, Adobe CS
  • Experience managing budgets, quotations, purchase orders, and production schedules
  • Strong quality-control, negotiation, and production problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Furniture, Product, or Industrial Design, or a related discipline
  • Willing to travel internationally when required
  • Freehand sketching ability and additional European languages would be advantageous
