Furniture Driver (Full-time / 39 hours per week)
Location: RAF Croughton, NN13 5NQ Salary: Competitive plus benefits
Serco is seeking a Furniture Driver for United States Air Force household furniture and appliance logistics across the UK. This role involves secure, time-sensitive delivery, installation, and customer support while adhering to strict operational and security standards.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the safe, timely, and careful transport, installation, and collection of furnishing and appliances, ensuring they arrive at USAF personnel’s residences undamaged and functioning correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation:
- Operate vehicles for transporting furniture and appliances across the UK.
- Secure safe loading/unloading and on-time deliveries without trade-damage.
- Service Delivery:
- Install white goods and arrange furniture to military specifications.
- Provide friendly, reassuring customer service to safeguard US airmen and families during relocations.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Support in stock checks, cleaning, sorting, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with scheduling deliveries, collections, and routing packets.
- Conduct overnight stops or long-haul routes as needed.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Maintain a clean, organised, and fully operational fleet and workspace.

Requirements
To be considered, you must:
- Have regular driving experience (with proof of commitment).
- Hold a full UK driving licence (classified ‘clean’).
- Demonstrate a customer-service orientated attitude and be comfortable communicating face-to-face.
- Be physically fit, able to lift and handle heavy/delicate goods daily.
- Be willing to work in a team environment.
- Pass security clearance requirements (including Baseline Personnel Security Standard, BPSS).
- Hold or obtain a Driver’s Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) (strongly preferred).
- A countryside work bus licence or Forklift Certification would be advantageous.
Note: All security clearances are subject to compliance with government standards. You’ll need to provide additional documentation, including:
- Verification of employment history.
- Evidence of clean criminal record & UK residency.
- Proof of financial stability.
Additionally, an Occupational Health Questionnaire will be completed during recruitment.
