Description

Are you an experienced Furniture Fitter with a practical, hands-on approach and strong customer skills? Do you enjoy working on different sites, meeting customers and seeing projects through from delivery to installation? This could be a great opportunity to join a growing business where no two days are the same.

Impact Recruitment are currently working with an established business specialising in bespoke furniture and soft furnishings for universities, schools, care homes and other commercial environments across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a practical and personable Furniture Fitter to work closely with customers, deliver and install furniture and furnishings, and support projects from initial measurements through to completion.

Location: Cambridge & Wellingborough, with regular travel between both

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Salary: £32,000-£38,000 DOE

Contract: Permanent

Travel: Regular UK customer-site travel; company van and fuel provided

Duties

  • Visit customer sites and build strong, long-term relationships
  • Measure rooms and buildings accurately for furniture, curtains and blinds
  • Deliver and install furniture and furnishings at customer sites
  • Fit curtains and blinds professionally
  • Carry out furniture fitting, assembly and snagging
  • Use hand and power tools to complete installation work
  • Collect finished products from the Wellingborough facility and deliver to customers
  • Keep customers updated throughout projects
  • Liaise with the Wellingborough team regarding upcoming work and production
  • Ensure completed work is clean, tidy and finished to a high standard
  • Support customers with refurbishment and ad hoc requirements

The Ideal Candidate Must

  • Have previous experience within furniture, furnishings, interiors or a similar practical environment
  • Be confident using hand and power tools
  • Be comfortable measuring accurately
  • Have a practical, hands-on approach
  • Be comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Be reliable, organised and responsive
  • Be physically comfortable with furniture delivery and installation
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel regularly between Cambridge and Wellingborough

Desirable

  • Experience fitting curtains and blinds
  • Experience in furniture installation, commercial interiors or similar
  • Experience working directly with customers or on customer sites
