Salary: £28,646.47 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07:00 - 17:00

Location: Cheltenham

Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and a £2,000 annual retention bonus (pro-rata for part-time employees), subject to achieving and maintaining clearance requirements.

About The Role

We are actively seeking an organized, self-motivated, and reliable Furniture Technician to join our team in Cheltenham. In this role, you will support the Accommodation and Infrastructure Service Team by handling furniture-related tasks, assembly, and general handy-person maintenance duties. You will play a crucial part in maintaining a clean, safe, and fully functional environment across our busy site.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain furniture across the designated site.
  • Assemble, install, and dismantle furniture and office fixtures like whiteboards, noticeboards, and shelving.
  • Support with furniture deliveries and the relocation of items.
  • Manage and issue building lockers and secure cupboard keys.
  • Deliver allocated planned, corrective, and reactive site maintenance tasks.
  • Escort visiting contractors and guests safely when required on site.
  • Work safely and efficiently, considering your own and others' health and safety.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damage, or near-misses to line management immediately.
  • Build and maintain a professional, day-to-day contact with client representatives.
  • Undertake reasonable overtime and weekend work to support time-bound project deliverables.

Essential Criteria

  • Practical handy-person skills, DIY-based experience, or semi-skilled trade background.
  • Strong customer-focused approach with good verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, conscientious, and adaptable to changing site priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team and on your own initiative.
  • Highly organized and resourceful approach to problem-solving under pressure.
