Furniture Technician
Our client is a well-established furniture & upholstery restoration business currently going through an exciting period of growth across the UK, Scotland and Ireland, with ambitious plans for the future.
They're looking for an experienced Furniture Technician, Upholsterer, Furniture Restorer or Upholstery Specialist to join the team, carrying out furniture repair and restoration work in customers' own homes. If your background is in domestic furniture manufacturing, upholstery, French polishing, furniture spraying or restoration, this role offers strong earning potential, genuine progression and a well-rounded benefits package.
What you'll be doing:
- Visit customers in their own homes to inspect furniture and upholstery, diagnosing the repair or restoration work needed
- Carry out repairs to upholstered furniture to a high standard, using the tools, materials and restoration kits provided
- Produce clear, accurate written reports for both the business and the customer following each visit
- Advise customers on ongoing product care and maintenance
- Represent the business professionally and deliver a consistently excellent standard of customer service

What we're looking for:
- Significant hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, or furniture production and restoration techniques
- Strong working knowledge of modern furniture materials and repair methods
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear customer-facing reports
- Well organised, proactive and methodical approach to your work
- Able to remain calm and effective under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Comfortable working independently, using your own initiative, as well as part of a wider team
What's on offer:
- Basic salary from £33,710, with realistic total earnings of £37,500 to £41,370 or more with additional overtime at your request
- Performance-related bonus of up to an additional £200 per month on top of all these earnings.
- Weekend overtime work available at £220 per day (1 in 3 Saturdays is required), with further weekend shifts available at an enhanced overtime rate whenever you want it
- Company vehicle and free fuel card provided
- Tools, materials and restoration kits supplied, including leather and wood restoration
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising by 1 day per year after 2 years' service up to a maximum of 28 days
