Job Opportunity: Mechanical CAD Specialist for AI Design Tools
- $40–$100 per hour equivalent, paid per task
- 100% remote
- Part-time
- Fully flexible schedule
Work on the cutting edge of AI design tools, on your own schedule, and get paid for the mechanical CAD expertise you already have.
The AI design tools everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real mechanical CAD specialists. The teams building them need people who can create realistic parts and assemblies, judge whether the resulting models are accurate and manufacturable, build the model a skilled professional would produce, and explain the key modeling decisions behind it. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models for engineering and manufacturing. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you'll do
- Turn written briefs into fully parametric 3D models of single parts and assemblies, setting up dependable sketches, constraints, and feature trees
- Update existing CAD models when requirements change, keeping the design manufacturable and within specification
- Compare dimensions, tolerances, feature trees, and design intent with the brief and manufacturing requirements
- Record key modeling decisions and give clear technical feedback on gaps, errors, and deviations

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
