Livin Futures Advisor
Location: Durham
Salary: £36,679 - £39,019
Grade: Band 7
Reporting to: Livin Futures Manager
Management Responsibility: None
Role Overview
The Livin Futures Advisor will provide high-quality, one-to-one employability support to a caseload of tenants, helping to maximise the number of customers progressing into employment.
The role will involve coordinating employability activity between tenants, communities, statutory agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams. You will also support the development and delivery of services and projects designed to tackle unemployment within local communities.
A key part of the role will be developing strong partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and business organisations to overcome barriers to training and employment, while identifying opportunities and potential funding to support employability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality one-to-one employability support to a caseload of tenants.
- Support tenants who are furthest removed from the labour market to overcome barriers and progress towards employment.
- Develop effective relationships with employers, colleges, schools, local authorities, registered providers, third-sector organisations, and employer organisations.
- Coordinate and, where required, develop and deliver projects and initiatives focused on employment and training opportunities.
- Work with schools, colleges, and partners to provide personal and career development, work experience, and pre-NEET support.
- Promote apprenticeship opportunities and support young people and adults to become apprenticeship ready.
- Work with the Community Regeneration team to ensure employability support reaches priority neighbourhoods.
- Provide training and guidance to Livin teams on signposting tenants towards employment and training opportunities.
- Identify and assist with funding bids for employability and training projects.
- Embed employability within frontline services to identify and engage unemployed tenants.
- Identify and share good practice in employability and related areas.
- Record, monitor, and report on customer outcomes and social value.
- Monitor service performance measures and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Work with marketing and digital media teams to promote Livin Futures services.
- Attend resident, partnership, and community meetings as required.
- Contribute to service improvements and corporate initiatives.
- Manage tenant complaints in collaboration with the Feedback and Customer Experience Team.
- Deal appropriately with safeguarding and public protection matters in line with relevant policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, presentation, and written skills, alongside the ability to manage their own caseload effectively.
You will be able to develop ideas, implement solution-focused approaches, and build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, partners, and community organisations.
You should have experience of delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service, managing a caseload, delivering projects that help people back into work, and monitoring performance management systems.
Knowledge
The Role Requires Knowledge Of
- Current government welfare and employability legislation and policy.
- Good practice in employability within the housing sector.
- Housing law, policy, procedures, and best practice.
- Schools and colleges working practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 / A-C, including Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
- Level 4 qualification in Housing, Training/Advice, Information, Advice and Guidance, Teaching, Assessing, Verification, Skills for Life, or another relevant subject.
- Commitment to continued learning and development in line with the requirements of the role.
