GA4 Implementation Specialist
Client: Travel Group Client
Location: Hybrid (London) - 2 days a week in the office
Contract: Initial 3-6 Month Contract
Rate: £500 a day - Inside IR35
Overview
Seeking an experienced GA4 Implementation Specialist to support the delivery and optimisation of digital analytics capabilities across its airline brands. The successful contractor will be responsible for the implementation, governance and enhancement of Google Analytics 4 (GA4), ensuring accurate tracking, reporting and insight generation across multiple digital platforms.
Working closely with Digital, Product, Marketing, Data and Development teams, you will lead analytics implementation initiatives, establish best practices and help drive data-informed decision making across customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end GA4 implementation projects across websites and digital products.
- Design and maintain measurement frameworks aligned to business objectives and KPIs.
- Define tracking requirements and create detailed measurement specification documents.
- Work closely with development teams to implement and validate GA4 tracking via Google Tag Manager (GTM).
- Configure events, conversions, audiences and custom dimensions within GA4.
- Ensure data quality through monitoring, troubleshooting and regular audits.
- Conduct analytics health checks and recommend improvements to existing implementations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business goals.
- Support attribution, customer journey and conversion analysis initiatives.
- Work with data engineering and BI teams to integrate GA4 data into broader reporting ecosystems.
- Establish governance processes and implementation standards across digital properties.
- Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to internal teams on GA4 best practices.

Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering GA4 implementations in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Experience defining data layers and tracking specifications for development teams.
- Strong understanding of event-based measurement models.
- Experience implementing tracking across websites, mobile applications or customer digital journeys.
- Skilled in debugging and validating analytics implementations using industry-standard tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical tracking solutions.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within travel, aviation, ecommerce or customer-facing digital environments.
- Knowledge of BigQuery and GA4 data exports.
- Experience with Adobe Analytics or other enterprise analytics platforms.
- Understanding of consent management and privacy regulations (GDPR).
- Experience working within agile product and delivery teams.
- Familiarity with customer data platforms (CDPs) and digital marketing technologies.
