Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as Gallery Manager at Edel Assanti in London. The Gallery Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the gallery across its two London locations, ensuring all areas are secure, organised, and well maintained.
The role encompasses gallery and facilities management, art fair planning and delivery, and support to the Directors. Responsibilities include coordinating suppliers and contractors, managing operational schedules and gallery events, overseeing art fair logistics and installations, and line managing the Registrar to ensure artwork movements, shipping, inventory, and documentation are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with the Directors and wider gallery team, the Gallery Manager plays a central role in coordinating operations across the business.
Principal Accountabilities
Gallery Manager
- Oversee day-to-day operations across gallery's two locations
- Manage staff rotas
- Line management of Registrar, overseeing priorities, workload, and operational deadlines
- Management and oversight of gallery premises, ensuring all areas are secure, organised, and well maintained
- Manage premises related suppliers, contractors, and service providers
- Plan and oversee event logistics: gallery events, private views, dinners
- Maintain and improve gallery procedures, systems, and operational processes
- HR - support team coordination, onboarding, and administration as required
- Responsible for gallery’s AML

Art Fair Management
- Primary point of contact with fair organisers
- Manage applications, contracts, deadlines, schedules, and documentation of fairs
- Coordinate and oversee timelines, ensuring key logistical and communicational deadlines are met
- Coordinate team to ensure sales materials and supporting information are prepared in advance
- Oversee Registrar’s management of: shipping, framing, production, installation, and deinstallation with external suppliers
- Oversee booth build, lighting, furniture, signage, AV, and technical requirements
- Prepare and monitor fair budgets and associated costs
- Coordinate VIP passes, guest requirements, dinners, and related fair events
- Manage post-fair reporting, including costs, sales, and operational review
Administrative Support for Directors
- Provide administrative and organisational support to Directors
- Oversee post-sale coordination where required
- Coordinate business travel, accommodation, and itineraries where required
Key Performance Indicators
Gallery Manager
- Smooth and consistent management across gallery's two locations
- Operational priorities, deadlines, and issues managed proactively
- Registrar effectively managed on the basis of agreed deliverables and deadlines
- High standards of gallery presentation, with visitor experience maintained across both locations
- Comply with requirements of UK AML legislation, maintaining up-to-date records and frictionless client relations

Art Fair Management
- Applications, materials, and key deliverables completed ahead of deadlines
- Fair logistics, production, shipping, and installation delivered on schedule
- Fairs delivered within agreed budgets, with variances communicated in advance
- Sales and presentation materials completed ahead of opening
- Timely post-fair reporting and operational review
Administrative Support for Directors
- Directors effectively supported to meet strategic, commercial, and operational goals
- Schedules, travel, and supporting materials managed accurately and proactively
- Requests, deadlines, and follow-up actions completed in a timely manner
- Clear communication maintained between Directors, the gallery team, and external contacts
Salary: £42,000–£45,000 pro rata, dependent on experience.
